FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions:

Is there a fee for the initial assessment?
The initial assessment by our certified personal trainer is free.

Must I visit my doctor prior to beginning the program?
It is always advisable to consult your physician before beginning an exercise program.

Where does the training take place?
In the client's home unless the client requests another venue. Special arrangements can be made for alternative sites such as a private gym, church hall, etc.

How is the fee for services determined?
Fees are calculated based on the number of one hour sessions booked in advance. Payment is expected at the time of service.

Are there any discounts?
Yes. AARP members receive a 20% discount.

Is there an annual contract?
No. Unlike many large gyms, SilverFox Fitness (SFF) is a "pay-as-you-go" service. Clients may terminate their agreement at any time without penalty.

Is it necessary to purchase any equipment since the sessions do not usually take place in a gym?
SFF will attempt to use any items that the client already possesses such as an exercise bike, treadmill, weights, etc. If the trainer feels that a certain item could benefit the client, the trainer will make a recommendation and advise the client how to purchase the item from a third party. SFF does not sell equipment.

What should I wear for my session?
No special clothing is required. We suggest loose fitting clothing and appropriate footwear such as sneakers or tennis shoes.

Are the training sessions covered by insurance?
Not usually, but policies vary. In any case, SFF does not submit bills to insurance companies.

Does SFF conduct group exercise classes?
Upon request, we will conduct small group classes (2 to 6 people) if a suitable space is available.

Does SFF offer a weight reduction program?
We are neither nutritionists nor registered dieticians. However, because healthy eating habits play such a critical role in achieving fitness, we will review a client's daily habits in this area and offer some general guidelines.
